About the BdOIDS Practice Series

The Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics Practice Series (BdOIDS) provides rigorous competitive preparation for Bangladeshi high school and college students aspiring to represent Bangladesh at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).

Getting Started: A Guide for Newcomers

New to the practice rounds? Work through the steps below in order. Everything you need is on this site or in the official channels at the bottom of this page — you do not need prior contest experience to take part.

1. Check that you are eligible. The rounds are open to Bangladeshi school and college students preparing for IOI-style contests. Contestants from other teams may join as guests, but they are marked unofficial: they appear on the scoreboard, receive no rank-based award, and never take a medal from a ranked contestant.

2. Register before the round. Round announcements, the contest link and your CMS account are shared through the official channels listed below. Register with your real name and handle once — duplicate accounts are merged or removed.

3. Set up your environment. You need a laptop and a compiler: C++17 (g++) is the recommended choice. The archive replays on Codeforces Gym are ideal for this.

4. Read the format of a round. Each round has three tasks worth 100 points each, sat in one timed sitting. Statements, limits and subtasks are published on the round page. Grading is full-subtask, exactly like IOI: your task score is the sum of the subtasks you pass, so a partial solution that passes the easy subtasks is worth more than a slow attempt at the full problem.

5. Understand how awards are decided. All participants are ranked together by total score, and equal scores share a rank. Medal cutoffs come from the official contest configuration, with unofficial entries and disqualified accounts excluded from awards. Unofficial contestants and disqualifications never count towards the medal tally on this site.

6. Follow the rules of integrity. Solve alone, write your own code, and do not consult another person, a pre-written solution, or an AI assistant during a round. Suspected violations are reviewed by two coordinators and published in the Integrity register; a disqualification zeroes the round.

7. Upsolve afterwards. Every round is replayed on Codeforces Gym, and upsolving submissions never affect standings or medals. Reading editorials after the round and re-implementing the tasks is the fastest way to improve for the next one.

Contest Management System (CMS) & Codeforces Gym

All official practice rounds are administered using CMS, the identical grading software utilized at the International Olympiad in Informatics. This guarantees realistic execution environments, time and memory limit enforcement, and authentic subtask evaluation.

Archive replays and upsolving are hosted on Codeforces Gym.
